About Us

PRESENTED BY AIGA DC, DC Design Week has created a citywide platform for design dialogue, development, and exchange FOR OVER A DECADE.
Through talks, workshops, exhibitions, tours, gatherings, and experiences across Washington, the week brings together people from different disciplines, industries, and stages of practice to encounter new ideas, expand perspective, share knowledge, and connect through design.
Each year introduces a new area of inquiry, creating an opportunity to examine design through different practices, cultural contexts, institutions, communities, and
points of view.

DC Design Week is hosted by AIGA DC.

About AIGA DC

Founded in 1984, AIGA DC serves more than 800 registered members alongside a broader network of designers, students, educators, creative professionals, and collaborators throughout Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia.

Led by an all-volunteer Board of Directors, AIGA DC creates programs, resources, and opportunities that support designers throughout their professional development, from mentorship and community-building to continued learning and the expansion of practice.

The chapter is dedicated to developing and supporting an inclusive local design community and to reflecting the breadth of design, its disciplines, and the people who practice it.

Design Continuum Fund

The AIGA DC Design Continuum Fund is a merit-based scholarship program supporting emerging designers across Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia.

Since its founding, the fund has awarded more than $100,000 to students pursuing careers in communication design, illustration, photography, and related creative fields.

Through DC Design Week, we create visibility, access, connection, and resources that contribute to the continued development of the region’s next generation of designers.
