Go inside The People’s Archive for a closer look at the primary sources documenting Washington’s people, places, communities, and cultural life.

Through selected photographs, maps, newspapers, oral histories, publications, ephemera, and other records, participants will explore different ways into the city’s history while learning how these materials are organized, accessed, and used for research.

The experience invites attendees to look closely, follow connections across the collection, and discover new pathways for researching the histories, communities, and creative cultures of DC.
