DC History Center at Carnegie Library
Go inside the DC History Center’s Kiplinger Research Library for an introduction to the collections and how designers and creatives can use them as a resource for research and inspiration.
A behind-the-scenes visit will introduce participants to historical photography, architecture and design materials, and hard-to-find books connected to Washington. The experience then moves into a hands-on collage activity, inviting participants to draw from the collection and make new connections through what they have encountered.
Space is limited. Advance registration required.
In partnership with
DC History Center and HumanitiesDC recently announced that they intend to merge this fall. They will become a single nonprofit dedicated to preserving the District’s history, celebrating its culture, and supporting the humanities. From their base at the Carnegie Library, DC History Center + HumanitiesDC will offer research, education, grants, and programming opportunities to match any level of knowledge or interest in the District. The new organization will be where DC’s curious minds build community, find common ground, and help shape the future of the nation’s capital.
