In Focus: A Film Photo Walk

A community study in observation

Saturday, October 10 • 12:30–3:00 PM

Capitol Hill Arts Workshop

Tickets available soon

Start with an introduction to shooting film at Capitol Hill Arts Workshop, then head out on a guided photo walk through the neighborhood. Along the way, you’ll have a chance to slow down, notice what catches your eye, and make photographs with the limits and surprises that come with analog photography.

A fixture on Capitol Hill since 1972, CHAW has built its work around the connection between art and community. It is also home to the last community darkroom in Washington, DC, offering ongoing access to black-and-white film development, printing, and photography classes.

The session offers a chance to experience film photography within a place that has helped keep the practice accessible and active in the city for decades.
